F.A.Q.

Welcome to our Frequently Asked Questions!

1) Is Celebrate Recovery for just members of the United Methodist Church in Chillicothe?

Not at all!  We are thankful that The United Methodist Church in Chillicothe has embraced this important ministry.  We encourage our members to be active supporters of this program and are willing to share some of the leadership role with our greater community.  Some members may participate in the Celebrate Recovery activities, some may help with small group leading roles, some may help with support functions.

You can be a member of another church and want to help with this ministry......that's the Body of Christ working together in unity to help those who hurt.

You may not be currently attending a church......You are welcome!  Whether its simply to join in the fellowship and support of others who share similiar circumstances or to volunteer for service-oriented activities, feel free to come.

2) Is Celebrate Recovery just for drug and alcohol abuse?

NO! Drug and alcohol abuse is certainly one of the addictions and compulsions affecting a large percentage of our population.  However, there are many "hurts, habits and hang-ups" affecting people and their need for recovery.  Codependecy is one of the factors in drug and alcohol abuse.  Family members suffer right along side with the drug and alcohol abusers.  Food addiction, sexual addictions, gambling addictions, compulsive spending are some of the other areas where people need recovery.  Divorce is sometimes the result of these addictions and these people need recovery tools as well.  Basically, all people who have hurts and in turn have hurt others can benefit from a Christ-centered 12 step program.

3) What is your planned geographical coverage area?

We think to start, we should be prepared to reach out to the population within a 25 mile radius from Chillicothe.  This means reaching out from Hamilton to Brookfield, Trenton down to Carrollton and the county populations within this radius.
